You're not just a girl, you're most likely better than most of us in a lot of ways. Most importantly, your friends are here at Hellforge. Some of us do come here to enjoy your blogs and you do stand out from the rest of the staff here on Hellforge, IMO.
Any annoyances you've encountered or bits here and there along the way...I bet you already knew that. So taking a break sounds like a good balance. Wait a sec, I bet you it's the weather there in Seattle. Is it really that depressing? It has gotten sunnier here in San Francisco. You can take a break, come down here for some sun, and play with my 3 puppies...their all pure bred Yorkies.

I'm one of those idiots that bought the 1st generation iPhone when it came out. I agree that in no way it is a serious gaming device for the mass. If Apple devs are touting it as a true gaming device, they're just trying to appeal to the game developers. So far, there are lots of free crappy games you can download easily via the iPhone's built-in App Store and a few very unique games you can buy if you have the time to play them. Screen pinching motion and using the device's accelerometer to control movement combined are what I see as truly unique. However, like some of you've already mentioned, maybe future version will be able to take the crown. One problem I see is the programming language requirement. Let's face it, verteran game developers are C++ experts. Objective-C is what iPhone games require. It's true that if you're very good as a game programmer, you can easily pickup any other language..I don't recommend either one as a starting language though. Anyhow, DS and iPhone is kinda like apples and oranges...consume it anyway you like but they're not the same.
Not an Apple fanboy but haven't switch since I got mine.Â

If you pick up an item and don't want it, when you drop it then everyone else can see it.
I could be wrong but HGL wasn't quite like this. I remember it was hard to drop something once you pick it up in HGL. It was awful. However, it did had individual loot drop in a party which was a relief from the old D2 experience. In D2, there were many client-side utilities using AutoIt API to control the mouse clicks. So when a unique boss dies, you would not see anything within a public party and simply go 'WTF?!' because some jackass hijacked all the loot instantly. This was especially worst when individual with slow internet connection would not even see any visual of the item drop. It was amusing and quite frustrating at the same time.

ALL ABOUT ME
Interests:
UNIX/Linux network programming, network protocol design, Linux kernel tuning & module programming. I have interests in most software related engineering except web portal development which annoys me. Even some grandma can write a hello world site now and calls herself webmaster.
Favorite Games:
No favorite but I do enjoy Team Fortress 2 and Diablo 2 when there's time.
Favorite Music:
I grew up in the era when Nirvana, Smashing Pumkins, Alice In Chain, Stone Temple Pilot, Green Day, Depeche Mode, etc. were awesome...well they still are.
Maybe I'm getting old but when settling down to programming, some random songs below actually get me hacking away:
Ave Maria - Christina England Hale
Now We Are Free - Hans Zimmer (Gladiator soundtrack)
Clubbed To Death - Rob Dougan (Matrix Reloaded soundtrack)
Memories - Within Temptation
Lithium - Evanescence
The Man Who Sold The World (Cover) - Nirvana
1979 - Smashing Pumpkins
Radiohead - Creep
Audioslave - Like a Stone
Just Like Heaven (Cover) - Katie Melua
Favorite TV Shows:
I don't watch TV you insensitive clod!
Favorite Books:
Don't have favorites here as I don't have time to enjoy these any more but last were George Orwell's 1984 and Dan Brown's last two books.
Favorite Movies:
Strange but from silly to all crude comedy alike: The Gods Must Be Crazy, Meet The Fockers, Office Space, American Pie, The 40 Year Old Virgin, Superbad.
