I would probably start messing with it in this order:

make sure all cables are good... nothing loose...
listen for any beeps or anything when you power it on and make note if there is an error code
clear cmos (probably not the problem)
check ram... see if it powers on without ram installed
check connection on power button. sometimes it comes loose and creates a short.
make sure there are no screws or any metal touching the motherboard
try a different power supply...…
