Valve’s point man and Left 4 Dead 2 writer Chet Faliszek shot down rumors that Left 4 Dead 2 would be launching with two DLC packs upon its release. Users discovered the presence of the “Miracle Pack” and “Apocalyptic Pack” in the demo’s .txt files a few days ago.

The titles were associated with other DLC-related strings which indicated that players would have to download the content from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace.

A preview of Left 4 Dead 2 on a Taiwanese website appears to have uncovered the two remaining (out of a total of 5) campaigns that were previously unrevealed… until now!

Valve has pulled a new trick from out of its sleeve with the announcement that Left 4 Dead 2’s will be featuring a new competitive gameplay mode called “Scavenge”, in which the team of survivors is tasked with retrieving scattered gas canisters and using them to fill up generators. In a meeting with the Australian press in Sydney, Gabe Newell announced just a few moments ago that Left 4 Dead 2, which has been refused classification and effectively banned in Australia may be seeing a release after all, as Electronic Arts and Valve have lodged another version of the game for rating, which has been censored for the Australian market.

Valve posted a small announcement today that it would be appealing to Australia's classification board concerning their ruling on Left 4 Dead 2.

The classifications board originally refused to rate the game due to "intense graphic violence", presumably relating to its use of melee weapons in combat, effectively banning the game from appearing on store shelves across the country.

The Left 4 Dead 2 "boycott" seems to be losing a bit of steam lately, maybe they peaked too early?  The "official" protest group is up to 41,000+ members, half of which will probably buy the second game anyhow.  The "official" pro-L4D2 group has now hit 1,000+.  I propose a new group but first we need some back story.
