Yes, I found I have to add feral when it comes to talking to overseas people about bunny hunting.
See, in Australia, they're pests. People think of rabbits as these cute, white, fluffy things that hop around in your cage. Feral rabbits, on the other hand, are not fluffy, but thin, lean, brown, and flea infested. And if you let them breed unchecked, they become a plague. There's old videos (which I can't find on the net), showing western Australia over run. The ground is just a seething carpet of bunnies. Not so cute.
On farms they're especially a problem, since they eat everything, dig burrows under house foundations, make holes for horses and cattles to step in and break their legs, and spread disease. So obviously, populations need to be kept in check. With a rifle. Along with feral goats, pigs, foxes, cats, and occasionally Kangaroos. They all cause surprising amounts of damage to the environment if left unchecked.

Anyone ever seen a feral cat before? Holy crap, they are scary. They're bigger then normal cats (for some reason) and more vicious. You walk towards a feral cat, more then likely, he's going to start walking towards you. *shudder*
