Tiring of Resident Evil 5 and how that Japanese person playing Sheva has endless ammo for every weapon? Has your interest in Left 4 Dead's new Survival Mode already decayed to chunks? Do you desire the ability to drop those wimpy ranged weapons, pick up a chainsaw, and just go to town?
Well, fear not. An endless horde of face-gnawing undead titles is stumbling your way. Here's a few, with screenshots, vids and info to whet your appetite (for brains).
Dead Rising 2
Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
The original was the game that ALMOST made me buy an Xbox. Almost. Luckily, the sequel promises to be even better. Dead Rising 2 takes place in a Casino (Las Vegas?), and offers many new and inventive ways to dispose of the zombie horde. The best feature? The number of on-screen zombies will increase from the 800 of Dead Rising 1, to OVER 6,000!!!!! Hell yeahs!!
With a release date of 2010, this is still a fair way off, but it won't stop us from salivating over it like a ripe ventral artery. Mmmmmmmm. Now here's your obligatory video and eye candy.

Dead Space: Extraction

Dead Space: Extraction
Wii
Still trying to decide on whether to get a Wii or not? Well, you'll be hard up to find a console sporting more Zombies titles. The best version of Resident Evil 4, the Chronicles Series, Dead Rising: Chop Till You Drop, the awesome new House of the Dead/Tarantino Hommage piece "Overkill", and now a Dead Space prequel... where will the carnage end?
Hopefully it won't. Extraction is an 'on the rails shooter' (yes, they are still fun, and great to play with your button-phobic girlfriend), and takes place before both the original Dead Space and it's anime movie prologue. Not much more is known then that. But come on, you have to admit. For Wii.... it doesn't look too bad! Out at years end.

Resident Evil: The Darkside Chronicles
Wii
Wii
When Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles came out, fans of the series rejoiced! We got to live through all the old games, updated with super graphics and new never-before-seen story elements. It did a fantastic job of bringing all the early RE lore together.... except for one thing.
No Resident Evil 2. Zero, 1, and 3 were there. But where was 2? The game most believe to be the horror-pinnacle of the whole series? Thankfully, our questions were answered in the best possible fashion: an entire game completely devoted to it!!! Darkside Chronicles promises to take fans back to Resident Evils roots, back to the horror and darkness we loved. Yes, it's an on the rails shooter, but you know what? I'll take that any day over some ammo hogging hussy who killed every ounce of tension Res 5 could have had. Slobber at the terrifying journey awaiting Leon and Claire, hopefully sometime this year.

Dead Island
360, PS3 and PC
360, PS3 and PC
This game has been in limbo for awhile, but it's hoped it'll be out after mid 09. Dead Island is what happens when the undead virus arrives in a tropical paradise. And instead of guns, you only have crowbars and other heavy objects to defend yourself with. Think Far Cry with Zombies, and the combat of Condemned.
Fingers crossed it does make it out, since it's been in development since 06 and their last trailer said release in 08 :/ Who doesn't like smashing heads in while sipping a coconut darkiri?

Ha. How could I leave? I'm always checking this site, and I still haven't deleted my RSS feeds to the HG and Mythos Gurus (separation anxiety?). Either way, these communities for Flagship, and now Diablo 3 and Runic Games have been a huge pleasure to be a part of. I just wish I could go back and alpha test hellgate again and somehow tell those devs to just wait another 6 months to release... :[

Dead Island looks cool but im still not impressed with the zombie games that are out now I want to see something like grand theft auto 4 but a zombie infected city and you can buy property and hire security guards and build up on your properties and go on raids to the mall with 6 of your friends imagine that an online mmo fps zombie game now that would be truely amazing because im getting sick of all of these zombie games that are either offline or repeditive and boring.

Yeah I just recently discovered it was the Code Veronica X. When I wrote this I don't think we'd had that much info yet. But that's pretty cool. I've never gotten around to finishing either of those, so it'll be good to see them done in super graphics.
