Not to be confused with the teen vampire-riddled Twilight stories by Stephanie Meyer, Edge of Twilight is something completely extraordinary.
This will probably be the first time you'll ever have heard of the game. The official website describes the game as a "3rd person action adventure game developed for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC platforms presenting a unique post-apocalyptic, steampunk fantasy world that has been split into separate realms of Day and Night"
That certainly captured my interest, as I've been a fan of Steampunk settings ever since I delved into China MiƩville's extraordinary series of novels that take place in the steampunk-fantasy Bas-Lag setting.
"One little slip of your knife, and a lifetime of pain can just drain away."
Edge of Twilight's trailer clearly shows some strong influence from the books, with its myriad of characters and slightly similar fantasy-steampunk setting. As a fan of the books and of the setting in general, I'd be a complete fool to pass up a game that so expertly manages to carry itself in its trailer alone. I'd be keeping my eye out on this one if I were you.
Now, without further ado, the trailer:

woah. That might just be the best trailer I've ever seen for a video game ever. I'd never heard of the game before, but will definately be buying at release.

OMG! On my feet and applauding. This game looks incredible, i simply do not have the advance English language level to say something stronger!
I completely and 100% agree with Sol, this is so influenced by Mieville's novels. They are my favourite books of all times, the story is just amazing, i would recommend the books to anyone anytime, even more than this game!
I have been dreaming for the day that someone one day would take china's world and make it into a movie or a video game. From this trailer it looks like that day has come, although under a different name
I could recognize many many elements found in the books by watching the trailer, the mechanical-human hybrids, architecture, costumes and clothing, some kind of a humanoid monster (0:37) that clearly resembles those characters in the books that sadly i cannot recall their name now (sol, if you please help me out here if you know what i mean...there were these things that would cling on a human's face and make the body a host...they would become super strong and super evil....i cannot remember!!), also slake-moths (1:37)...didnt see any cactus people though....nor a huge city made of shipwrecks:P...lol i got so excited!
Thank you sol for the post, you really have made my day. And for anyone who has not read china's books i strongly suggest not to waste anymore time, it is one of the greatest reading experience of your life!
take care all
