"Of all our games, Diablo III would be the one to port because of the way it plays, but there are no plans to move this to any other platform," Boyarsky said.
This announcement is made in the wake of the rumors and earlier mentions by other members of Blizzard that Diablo III would be the one Blizzard title that would "best translate" into a console experience because of its gameplay and controls.Â
In related news, Mike Morhaime was also asked whether Blizzard had plans to establish a presence within the console market, to which he responded, "I think it comes down to the games, so I'm not to worried about being the first to the stake of the market share. Blizzard has rarely been first to create a genre. What's the next step, what's the next evolution? And it's not dependant on platform."
"PC is a very healthy platform"
He admitted that piracy was an issue for the company, but that it was less of a problem if people purchased the games in order to enjoy the online features and services, which require legitimate copies.Â
"I think people like Valve have got it right, and people that are saying things like that are pointing at digital distribution which hasn't shown a lot of growth."Â
"The growth for PC gaming, if you look at the aggregate, it's never been higher. If you look at the revenue from PC gaming, as well as all the other sources of revenue, I think you'll find that the PC is a very healthy gaming platform."
PC gaming is not doomed.Â

IMO, PC gaming was never d0med in the first place. I'm a PC gamer to the heart, and never owned any consoles beside the old Amiga and Commodore 16 and 64, so I don't really know what I'm losing on, but I still know that there are more PC gamers out there than consolers around the world, and quality titles are up and coming all the time.

I agree with Darkie, PC gaming has never been dying. Someone just said it was in the right place and time for everyone to notice... and it was stupid. US PC gaming is getting more digital (aka digital distribution, monthly subscriptions and marketplace-type transactions), but that isn't technically hurting the sales. Blizzard would know, too, with something like 11 million subscribers to WoW... how much cash would that be a month?
