BlizzCon is well under way, and the moment that every Diablo fan has been waiting for since the game was announced barely three months ago has finally arrived: the announcement of the new class.

Behold...

THE WIZARD

Holy ****! Who would have figured that?

The Wizard
The description reads: Youthful and headstrong, the upstart Wizard manipulates the primal forces of the universe to vanquish foes.

shoop da whoop

Joining the previously revealed classes of the Barbarian and the new Witch Doctor, the Wizard is a powerful spellcaster said to manipulate the powers of the elements.

The Wizard is reminiscent of the Sorceress class from Diablo II, and comes equipped with Charged Bolt and Magic Missile spells.

Other spells known to the Sorceress, such as the Frost Nova, Tornado and Blizzard make a strong return in the newly minted Wizard.

Each of the three announced classes, the Wizard, Barbarian and Witch Doctor are playable in both male and female forms. In the demo, the male Wizard is unavailable.

The demo has the player making his or her way through the dense foliage of Tristram Woods into the Tristram Church Dungeon.

More information will be posted within this article as it  becomes available!

Well, it still looks like ass but I've kinda stopped caring at this point.

They should've brought back the sorcerer from D1, he was so damn badass.

Well, the screens look good to me, they are plainly darker than the announcement screens. I think Blizzard is trying to win over the criticizing fans by showing this aspect of the game. I like those misty scenes. They are horrific.
Wizard: maybe weird because it's generic, but it is still reasonable. If they can make a clear distinction between a wizard and a sorcerer/sorceress, then I can accept it.

Lol I called it!

I said they'd probably change the names rather than the classes and make it a mage or a wizard!

SO happy right now, this is the class Ill play!

From what the gameplay video and everything looks like, it looks nice. I like the sounds of it.
I figured they would make a "wizard" class... I am also betting on "ranger" or something to that effect. It's just the last one that has me puzzled.
It'll probably be some version of "knight"... Hmm...

The game looks amazing.  However the sound seems rather subpar.  The chain lightning sounded like a strong bit of static electricity, rather than the roaring torrent of electricity you'd find in Diablo 1.

There has to be a Knight and Ranger class most definitely. If there's no Knight class I'll be terribly disappointed.
