Earthworm Jim

Partnering with Gameloft, Interplay is set to bring its famous worm-ridden franchise back from the dead by introducing Earthworm Jim to all three console platforms.

Having done little with the license for over a decade, Interplay has given the new developer leave to develop, distribute and publish Earthworm Jim across multiple platforms, including mobile devices. Gameloft's happy announcement is as follows:

"We are delighted to partner with Interplay to bring Earthworm Jim to multiple downloadable platforms," said Gonzague de Vallois, senior vice president, Gameloft. "The game, with its humorous and edgy style, is a great fit for today's gamer who craves a fully immersive experience that is fun and easily accessible. We look forward to delivering a fantastic game."

It's more money for the development of Project V13 (Fallout Online), I suppose.

interesting dev choice, but if they're trying to capture the spirit of the gameplay mechanics in the originals, seems like it could be a good fit.

the first EWJ on SNES is one of my fave titles ever... i will definitely be following this story.

Please, please, please bring back Doug TenNapel to help on this.  Or, at the very least, consult with the man.

Yeah, they really need to do that. I'd stay far, far away from it if they don't.

Yeah, the reason why they failed in the past was because they cut out original author and developer from the game concept and development.

If it's as slapstick and well animated as the first two, then I'm on board! =D

Yup. I'm a fan. Not as huge as some, but I enjoyed the game back in the day :)
