And just as you think E3 is whimpering away Konami comes in and drops some awesomeness. The Castlevania game which was rumored before E3 has come to fruition. Castlevania: Lords of Shadows has been announced.
I'll be adding more screenshots shortly but for now you can view the trailer below at the game's website. Plus it features voice-over work of Patrick Stewart. According to Hidejo Kojima at the Konami press conference the game doesn't follow the mythology of the old Castlevania games, it is basically their own take on the series. This is apparently a Kojima Productions and Mercury Steam joint effort.
Yes it really does give off a God of War/Ninja Gaiden vibe. Game is expected in 2010 at some point. Kojima isn't the sole producer on the game but he is going to be helping out.
More details as they come in.

Castlevania was one of those games I saw as a kid but never got to play. Looking at this trailer, this game might've got me to buy a PS3, if not for the scenes I know are going to be quick-time events.

The early ones were pretty awesome. Symphony of Night may be one of the best games ever period.
Most of the transitions to 3D games however have sucked hard, hopefully this is an exception.
