 Reviewing MMOs is a really though thing to accomplish as they are games that usually require a certain amount of time investment to truly experience everything it has to offer not to mention all the sacrificial lambs and gallons of blood that is also required.  It hasn't even been 48 hours and already Cryptic has announced an update for Champions Online. After the launch patch that brought sweeping nerfs to almost every powerset in the game, October, or Rocktober depending on who you ask, will bring some new toys for CO players to mess around with.  UPDATE: The 6 month and lifetime sub discounts are available again in an unlimited fashion until Aug 31st. If you're were waiting to get your life time subscription or the 6 month discount then you're screwed because they're no longer available. Although the promotion was supposed to go until Sept 1st it has been pulled due to being sold out.  Love it or hate it World of Warcraft is where the bar currently resides when it comes to MMOs. One of the things that Blizzard got right with WoW was giving their brilliant users almost unrestricted rein to customize their user interface. Because of that some of the most amazing add ons have come into existence. In a not so swift response Crytpic has jumped over the flames to issue a response regarding all the open beta issues people have been having. The biggest issue we’ve had today is that getting into the Champions Online open beta was more popular than even we hoped for. And shake it all about, because when you do the open beta and your patcher is slow as hell, that's what it's all about. If you were skipping with glee out to your car leaving work today with the hopes of putting on your brightly colored spandex, we're afraid we have bad news. Numerous patcher issues and slow downloads have effectively **** blocked everyone from patching the game.  If you've been wondering about the open beta for Champions Online wonder no more! On Aug 16th all closed beta characters will be wiped out in preparation for the open beta, which is great for me considering I JUST got into the closed beta, whatever. Starting the 17th the open beta begins and players can play all week long until the 24th. There is a catch, every day the servers will be down between 1am and 3am PDT.  I somehow managed to snag a beta key very late into the beta testing of Champions Online. Yes I realize that the open beta starts next week and I'm also aware that the game is less than a month away from releasing. However this does not deter my desire to play it as soon as possible. I'm impatient with these sort of things and it's a problem I'm maybe seeing a therapist for so leave me alone! Gosh!
