This is just a sampling of what the con had to offer . . . that is to say a sampling of the slower attendees who could be drunkenly chased down and coerced into posing. Whatever your feelings on cosplay, you've got to commend the amount of effort that goes into the painstakingly intricate, wildly creative ensembles. Cheers to you SakuraCon!

I really don't know what to say to this. Cosplay is just a bit too out there for me. If I had to vote I'd give the nod to the MGS costumes as I love the exclamation points.

Yes, the exclamation points caused us to rush through the spinning bar doors and almost knock these people over. Cosplay is definitely peculiar, but these guys were all having a lot of fun. While the guys and I sat by laughing and calling out, "Aw man, that's the worst Umbrella Corp./Cloud Strife/Pyramid Head costume yet!" our much cooler friend Sam (who didn't even know what cosplay was until Saturday and remarked that we were acting like we had taken her to a zoo) kept saying, "You guys act like you don't belong here . . . but you really kind of do." Hehe. Busted.

Supposedly, a lot of the fun is in taking on your character as you interact with others. It is quite far-fetched, but when its intent is humorous it's really quite enjoyable.
P.S. Respected author, I believe you missed some of the best shots.

You should vote on who has the best expression, Miku (left), Haruhi (right), or the guy looking at them in the background.

They time out immediately. Try using a different host.

I just uploaded it onto the site via insert image. Using tinypic because it's worth the effort:

Good lord that's terrible. Even more amusing are the expressions on everyone's faces.

My vote is for the guy in the background. It looks like he's checking "Miku" out.

Although the MGS characters were damn creative, i think the link guy brought it home for me. He doesn't mind at all posing but is far to shy to look at the camera. i < 3 him! haha
Good times!

That's pretty rad. Cid gets props for getting all the details right, and I think the Pyramid Head guy is pretty cool. Can't be too easy to see with that thing on.
Stewie is terrible!
Edit: Link looks too much like Serennia.

Is it just me, or is he missing a middle finger? That, or he has a mean Dr. Spock impersonation. Live long and prosper!

Pretty sure that's a bit of his thumb on the mouse, and not his middle finger. Notice how all his other fingers are long? Unless he's got a super long thumb--which in the picture of him holding a cup, he does not--that nub in the gap is his thumb.

Cosplaying terrorists?
EDIT: Oh, now I see the exclamation points over their heads. Really, no Witch? I'm surprised Seattle didn't churn out the good weirdos.

That was good for a few laughs. I'm almost sad that I didn't cross the bridge and visit the spectacle. Next year, I guess!
The Stewie is my favorite, BTW.

Lol. SOme of those are pretty awful. But you can tell that a lot of effort went into them. The MGS ones and Captain Falcon made me laugh. Pyramid Head went to more effort then his nurse friend.
For a second I thought the guy with the sack was doing Dr. Salvadore! Got all excited and started looking for a chainsaw... but no... no it appears he's doing Batman. Ugh. Oh well.

I guess I'm the only one who's disappointed that Snorlax didn't get any cosplay love
